This year students from K-6 will be participating in Music: Count Us In 2013.

'Keep On' is the song written by 4 students under the guidance of Katie Noonan and John Foreman.  Students are involved in the entire process of writing right through to the recording of the song.

On Thursday, 31st October at 12.30pm Year 5 & 6 students will count down with the rest of Australia to sing and play 'Keep On' with K-4 singing and playing it at 1.30pm.

Term Two in the Music Room

It is a very exciting and busy time in the Music Room this term.  If you have a child in the String Ensemble or Choir please put the following dates in your diary:

Week 9 Monday 24 June Murwillumbah Festival of Performing Arts

Week 9 Tuesday 25 June "Starry Starry Nights" Showcase rehearsal and performance at Mahers Lane

Information regarding these events will be sent home with your child and I will also communicate via email so that you can be kept informed on any changes or requirements.

Also this term we are having a Twilight Concert for students enrolled in the co-curricular program for Music and Speech and Drama.  This will be Week 7 Wednesday 12 June commencing at 3.30pm in the Hall at the Sunshine Avenue Campus.  If your child is participating in this concert a letter will be sent home next week.  Teachers will only select those students who are ready to perform.  If your child is not selected this term there will be another opportunity for them to perform in term 3.

String Ensemble - Chapel 24 March

The String Ensemble performed for the first time this year at the Palm Sunday service at Mahers Lane.  Considering that the majority of the students have only been playing for 7 weeks, they did an amazing job.  A big THANK YOU to Mr Singh who has got them to such a high stand in such a short amount of time!

String Ensemble 2013

String Ensemble rehearsals are well under way for 2013.  The new Year 3 students are doing an amazing job learning the correct etiquette of ensemble playing and they are being helped by the continuing Year 4 students who are acting as their mentors.

The ensembles first performance will be at the Palm Sunday Service on March the 24th at the Mahers Lane Campus.

Rehearsals are every Friday morning at 8.15am in the Hall.  Please feel free to come and listen to our wonderful string players!
